Best Day Eveeeerrrrr........ Well So Far

So I’m finally writing this blog post because I think my mind is slowly getting back to normal since I have been freaking out for about 2 weeks! It slowly had to sink in that I saw what I saw, and I was in the building while it happened, LIVE and in person! Okay, so let me tell you what happened. I had the pleasure of attending THEE Sergio Hudson’s fashion show during of all things New York Fashion Week!! AHHHHH see just thinking about it makes me joyous! It was everything and I mean EVER- RE- THING! The music, the lights, the models, hey Winnie Harlow, and oh yes, the clothes. The clothes honey!! I saw quite a few pieces that I want, and lord knows your girl does not make those types of coins, but hmmm maybe I can sell a kidney, don’t I have two of those, oh wait, maybe a lung instead, I can handle having one, I mean I don’t smoke or exercise so I should be good right??!!! No, okay, you’re probably right, keep all organs intact.

The show was set at the Léman Ballroom.  It was bench style seating with the runways running through the room so that everyone had a good view of the models.  I attended the show with of course, StyledbyNinaJ herself, and again did I mention it was EVERY- RE- THING!  When we got in the vibes were amazing, the music was pumping, and it was old school R&B/POP, right up my alley, people were singing, talking, just having an all-around great time, and the show hadn’t even started yet.  We ran into a couple of housewives, shout out to Potomac and New York, Sherry Shepard, Sunny Hostin (The View), Angela Rye (Politics & Culture Commentator, CNN), some of the cast of P Valley, rapper LATTO and a host of fashion influencers and lovers of fashion. OMG, I can’t even explain to you how I was like a kid on Christmas morning, eyes wide, big cheesy grin, ooohhing and aaahhing, saying I want that and that and did you see that! I couldn’t even pretend to be composed, like oh sweetie this is so normal for me, HA, NOT!

Let me compose myself here, the show was amazing, the clothing was amazing.  He definitely gave his spin on the 90’s trend that is going strong right now with the mini dresses and skirts, but of course he stayed true to himself with some of the continuing elements of what he does best with color blocking, structure and suiting.  He also continued with the bright colors, but there were also a lot of pieces in black and white, and if you know me, black and white is my jam. “Darling I always wear black, black is such a happy color!” Me in a nut shell. He also said that he wanted to create looks that were seasonless, things you can wear year- round. For the shoes, he once again collaborated with Malone Souliers, a shoes and accessories brand.

“It’s in part inspired by the singer Prince and the New Power Generation era, so everything is very sexy, but clean and modern. I’ve tried to create a world like he did during that album run.”

“I wanted to do something that was beautiful, bold, and overtly glamorous and sexy, while still maintaining a clean and modern feel."

He did it.  Collection 10 will be available for purchase this fall and you can also purchase the shoes at MaloneSouliers.com and SergioHudson.com. What’s also great is that you can now purchase his clothing through the Luxury Stores at Amazon, and you know what that means, 2-day free shipping, you can get your items quick quick, or even same day if you have that in your city.
